A Letter from Chip Wiese to Our Customers

Dear Wiese USA Customer,

When my dad started the business in 1944, America was under rationing in order to support the US war time effort. He needed what was then called the War Department’s approval (now Department of Defense) to sell his first forklifts to a customer who was a critical part of the US effort. Everyone at home had to make do with less to support the national interest.

Today has some echoes of the past. Americans are being asked to give up our normal blessings in order to battle a common enemy and support the people on the front lines. Critical businesses – customers like you – supply the essential goods and services needed to keep America running: grocers, consumer goods, food production, pharmaceutical and medical suppliers, healthcare providers, energy providers, railroads and trucking, and manufacturers. Thank you for your tireless work to fuel and serve our country.

You have our commitment to do our part to help you keep America running. Wiese USA continues to operate with the health and safety of our Team Members, customers, supplier partners, and communities as our top priority.

As part of keeping that commitment, Wiese USA has established a set of COVID-19 policies for all Team Members, specific job functions, and our supplier partners. We are using our eLearning platform to train our Team Members in these policies:

You can review these policies by scrolling below or by clicking on any of the policy names above. We welcome your feedback if there are additional ways we can support your business.

Additionally, we are:

  • Monitoring the local and global health situation and adjusting business practices, as necessary, to comply with all recommendations, and implementing additional measures if needed.
  • Requiring Team Members who feel sick in any way to stay home until fully recovered and without symptoms for 48 hours. In addition, Team Members must be cleared by Human Resources before they return to work.
  • Leading by example, company leadership has taken the Wiese Wellness Pledge which includes a commitment to take our temperatures every morning and not come to work if sick.
  • Restricting all visitors from Wiese facilities, except for business-critical suppliers. These suppliers are kept outside of our facilities whenever possible and social distancing must be observed.
  • Postponing all non-essential business travel, including travel between Wiese locations.
  • Enabling work from home for those functions that can be productive.
  • Segregating workspaces and increasing physical distances between people.
  • Requiring Team Members who have traveled for personal reasons to be cleared by Human Resources before returning to work.
  • Implementing contingencies plans and procedures to respond to COVID-19 exposure.
  • Requiring Team Members who have a confirmed positive COVID-19 test, presumptive positive COVID-19 test, or exposure to someone with a positive or presumptive positive test to report that information to us immediately so that we can take prompt, remedial action. These Team Members must be cleared by Human Resources before returning to work.

If there is anything we can do to better serve you, please do not hesitate to reach out to a Wiese Team Member or contact me directly.

With faith, not fear,

Chip Wiese
